The 1st meeting of the Bass Coast Camera Club was held in January 2012 at the Goods Shed in Wonthaggi, 2012 was a busy busy year getting ourselves established and we can now confidently say that the group has progressed in leaps and bounds and is now a significant part of our parent group the Bass Coast Artists Society.
At our monthly meetings we have covered a wide range of topics including photographic journalism, still-life photography, portraiture, street photography, table-top photography, photography with an environmental and sustainability message, lighting techniques and computer enhancement using Photoshop and Picasa programmes.
In 2013 and into the future we endeavour to continue and expand with these learning experiences. There is so much to learn in the art of photography.
Each month we set a task and members take up the challenge and present their photos the following month for discussion. We have some very knowledgeable people within the group who willingly share their knowledge and experiences. We have had some extremely interesting speakers over the past 12 months and we shall continue with this through 2013.
We held two successful Exhibitions in 2012 and our next Exhibition is part of the Bass Coast Artists’ Society Easter Exhibition, Easter 2013.
The Club meets every third Saturday of the month at the Goods Shed in Wonthaggi starting at 1.30pm. You can approach the Goods Shed parking space by driving through the Big-W car park heading towards the old railway station and Goods Shed buildings.
We are a friendly, supportive group of people who get together with a shared love of photography. We welcome any new member to join us.
